Through the Günz valley to the birthplace of Kneipp - northern Ottobeuren

Starting from the marketplace towards the basilica, turn right into Ulrichstraße and then immediately left uphill into Bergstraße, which leads us about 500 meters out of town. We cross the bypass road via the wooden overpass. 100 meters further, we turn right onto the six-kilometer-long Günztal cycle path towards Westerheim. You should be careful before Hawangen, as the state road crosses the cycle path and has right of way.

Shortly after entering Westerheim, continue right on Bahnhofsstraße. We cross the western Günz and cycle up to the festival hall. Here we follow the main road towards Attenhausen – Ottobeuren, turn into Sontheimer Straße after 400 meters and cycle out of town. At the chestnut tree, turn right. Just after entering Attenhausen, the path meets Dorfstraße, which we follow right towards Ottobeuren. At the Raiffeisen bank, the path turns right towards Stephansried, the birthplace of the famous “Allgäu water doctor,” Pastor Sebastian Kneipp. In Stephansried, we follow the road towards Ottobeuren. Shortly after the intersection, a field path leads left to the Buschel Chapel. It goes downhill to the Ottobeuren bypass road, which we cross and continue on to Langenbergstraße. There, turn right back to the marketplace.
