Due to its location in the unspoiled nature of the Bergstraße-Odenwald Geopark at the tri-border area of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, and Hesse, with its magnificent mixed forests, Amorbach offers a hiking paradise like no other. The quaint, charming old town offers, besides many half-timbered houses, further sights: Princely Leiningen Abbey, Parish Church of St. Gangolf, Templar House (oldest half-timbered house in Bavaria), Old Town Hall, Amt Office and the Tithe Barn. A short walk is definitely worth it to the Amorsbrunn Chapel, the Seegarten, as well as the Gotthardsruine with its fantastic 7-valley view.
Initially steadily uphill - passing the entrance to the "SommerBergerG ART en" - station panel (measuring plus and strengthening) - saddle hut - loop back to the "Pilz" (serpentine descent).
