Hike to the Christmas market in the Ravenna Gorge

You start the tour at the station car park in Hinterzarten. Go to Freiburgerstraße and walk towards the town centre until you reach the junction towards Löffeltal. There, follow the mill wheel symbol or the blue "Heimatpfad" sign on the right towards Löffeltal. Next to the railway line, walk down the Löffeltalweg to the Klopfsäge. Just a few minutes after the Klopfsäge, you will reach the Hochgangsäge. Continue along the Rotbach stream to the exit of the Löffeltal valley at the B31. Continue through the subway of the B31, pass the Seilerei and the Wohn-Mahl-Mühle and walk to the Hofgut Sternen, where Johann Wolfgang von Goethe spent the night. Next to the Hofgut Sternen, you will reach the entrance to the Christmas market.

To get back to Hinterzarten, you either have to take the path back through the Löffeltal valley or take the shuttle bus back to Hinterzarten. To do this, however, you must book an "Admission & Shuttle from Hinterzarten" ticket in advance. With the "Christmas market admission" ticket, you cannot take the shuttle bus back to Hinterzarten, but have to walk back again.

The path through the Ravenna Gorge is closed due to weather conditions and can therefore not be used. We therefore recommend the route through the Löffeltal valley.

The hike through the Löffeltal is only partially well-lit - we recommend taking lanterns, torches or headlamps with you in the dark.

The hiking trail is accessible with an all-terrain pushchair.
