Ośrodek narciarski Wendelstein - Brannenburg

Challenging runs in a high alpine landscape, and a fantastic view, which often stretches for over 150 km attract those “in the know” to the Wendelstein in winter time. The Wendelstein is a mecca for nature-lovers and individualists who would prefer to avoid the hustle and bustle of the larger ski carousels. Those wishing to ski or board on the Wendelstein should ensure they’re in control, as the fun starts with the Hotelhang black run. The 3.8 km long eastern run down to the Mitteralm has been labelled a black run, and is very popular with the locals. The western run to the cable car’s valley station is 5 km long and a red run. The Bockstein and Lacher drag lifts provide access to other runs (medium difficulty).
The Wendelstein rack and pinion railway has been transporting skiing enthusiasts to the top of the mountain (1,838 m) from Brannenburg / Inntal below, since 1912. A modern cable car hovers up to the top station in a mere 7 minutes from Bayrischzell-Osterhofen.
