Bad Gottleuba-Berggießhübel: With children on the Forellensteig
Parkplatz Besucherbergwerk Berggießhübel - Alter Bahndamm - Forellensteig - Langenhennersdorf - Alter Bahndamm - Freibad Berggießhübel - Parkplatz Besucherbergwerk Berggießhübel
A particularly idyllic hiking trail in the surroundings of the former mining town of Berggießhübel is the Forellensteig. As a leisurely path, it leads between Ladenberg (338 meters) and Schlepphübel (314 meters) always along the murmuring and rippling Gottleuba. Between moss-covered boulders the stream winds through the valley and sometimes it shoots as a small waterfall over the mighty sandstone boulders. To the left and right, trees tower close to the water. Fascinating are the swirl holes that the brook has washed into the rock over the centuries. The starting point of the six-kilometer-long circular trail is the parking lot at the Marie-Louise-Stolln mine. From here, the route follows a former railroad line to the Forellensteig and then over a railroad bridge and across the open-air swimming pool back to the starting point.

You can reach the starting point in only 30 minutes by car from Dresden via the A17 or, for example, in 15 minutes by car from the Königstein Fortress in Saxon Switzerland.
A parking lot is located directly at the starting point of the hike at the visitor mine "Marie Louise Stolln" Berggießhübel.
To pack a bathing suit in summer is recommended, because a visit to the local swimming pool can be combined well. The visitor mine at the start and end of the tour is also worth a visit all year round.
