In 2013, the Saxon Way of St. James and the Vogtland Way of St. James along the medieval Franconian Road through Saxony were officially opened in Freiberg. Both routes are part of the European Way of St. James network, which converge in St. Jean-Pied-de-Port in France and lead from there to Santiago de Compostela. Marked throughout and with pilgrim accommodation, the Saxon route begins in Bautzen and leads along the Franconian Road through the silver city of Freiberg.
From the silver town of Freiberg, follow the Saxon Way of St. James towards Kleinschirma. Follow the signs towards Oberschöna and on to Kirchbach and Oederan.
The Saxon Way of St. James, the Vogtland Way of St. James, the Silberberg Way of St. James and the Sankt Anna pilgrimage route are marked with the international Way of St. James logo.
The center of the shell indicates the respective direction of travel.
If you want to return to the starting point in Freiberg, we recommend taking the train in the direction of Freiberg.
