The hike starts at the Border Museum in Böckwitz and leads via hiking trails to the Border Trail with observation tower and to the Lichtensteinkreuz. Some paths of the border troops and the customs path (trail through the forest) are used. The landscape is located on the edge of the Drömling and, of course, along the green belt.
In Böckwitz, the hike starts in the village center (entrance Border Museum) on the bike path towards Jahrstedt. After a few hundred meters, turn right towards the Border Trail (hiking path / initially cobblestones). At the signal fence/ BBQ hut, turn right and continue to the Border Trail. From here, the old colonel's path can be used. This ends at the road from Zicherie to Kaiserwinkel. Here the Lichtensteinkreuz can be visited. (Follow about 100m of the road in the direction of Kaiserwinkel. The return route can be taken on the customs path. The "entrance" to the forest trail is marked in one of the pictures. This path leads along the small border ditch back to the Border Trail, from where it then returns by the same way.)

Coming from Zicherie, the museum is located on the right side of the street shortly before the exit to Jahrstedt
The new line 300 connects Böckwitz from the direction of Wolfsburg central station and Klötze
(hourly on weekdays, every two hours on holidays and weekends)
