A beautiful stage that can also be ridden as a day trip from station to station: first through the lush lowlands of the Uchte with small villages featuring their imposing, partly Romanesque village churches, then through slightly rolling forests and fields to Kloster Neuendorf.
After visiting the monastery complex, we roll the last few kilometers to the Hanseatic town of Gardelegen.
The route is a typical stage of the Altmarkrundkurs: nature and culture alternate, with only a few climbs overall, allowing comfortable cycling on well-marked paths.
From Tangerhütte we follow the signposting of the Altmarkrundkurs towards Lüderitz.
In Lüderitz, we leave the main road and head south past the outdoor pool and along small paths towards Schleuss and Brunkau.
Via Volleschier we reach Uchtspringe with its large hospital complex. Near the train station we use the bridge over the railway line and cross the B 188.
Through the forest we ride towards Trüstedt and further towards Kloster Neuendorf.
From here, crossing the B188, we reach at Zierau the feeder road to the Hanseatic town of Gardelegen.
