Wine hike: Kallstadt - Burgunderweg

At the Platz der 100 Weine next to the tourist information, cross the Weinstraße and follow Neugasse straight ahead until you reach the street "Am Kleisinger." There, turn left and proceed straight north towards Herxheim am Berg until you reach the "Schlittgraben." Before the ditch (signposted also towards Freinsheim) keep right and follow the path through the vineyards. You will pass a meadow. At the bench group, keep right (not going up the hill) and continue on the paved path heading south. After about 300 m the path turns right, then after another 100 m a left turn. Continue straight until the connecting road between Kallstadt and Freinsheim.
Cross the road (caution: no crossing aid) and continue to the district road Freinsheim - Ungstein. Here, turn right and follow the bike and hiking path parallel to the road. After approx. 300 m, turn right. After 400 m the path makes a right turn. After 100 m keep left again and continue to the outskirts of Kallstadt, where you then turn right at the Kronenberg winery and walk along the village to the street. Cross the street and walk up the small hill on "Am Kleisinger." Then turn left into Neugasse and continue straight to Weinstraße and you will return to your starting point, the Platz der 100 Weine.

The route mainly runs on so-called farm roads. These are used for agricultural purposes and are driven on all year round by tractors and harvesting machines. We point out that use of the paths is at your own risk and ask for mutual consideration in the interests of everyone. The farm roads may be dirty due to agricultural traffic. After rainy days and especially in winter, the paths can be wet and slippery.

From the North:
Autobahn A6 (Mannheim/Kaiserslautern, exit Grünstadt) direction Bad Dürkheim, on B271 (Deutsche Weinstraße) via Herxheim am Berg to Kallstadt

From the South:
Autobahn A61 at the Ludwigshafen interchange onto A650 direction Bad Dürkheim. At the end of the upgraded section continue straight towards the Trift/Grünstadt industrial area. At the second traffic light turn right towards Ungstein. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit towards Ungstein/Grünstadt. After 50 m turn right towards Kallstadt (B271).
