Today, we let the route on the Lahn Cycle Path end very leisurely. Without noticeable climbs and always touching the Lahn, we roll through the scenically impressive nature park Nassau. The fashionable spa town Bad Ems has already collected many titles: imperial spa, summer capital of Europe, world spa – and since 24.07.2021 even UNESCO World Heritage!
And then the route continues once more along the Lahn until it finally flows into the Rhine at Lahnstein. The view of the Lahn, now matured into a full river, the arrival at the Rhine, and the romantic castles Lahneck and Stolzenfels invite you to reminisce about the various daily stages, which can be planned very flexibly on the Lahn Cycle Path thanks to many accommodation options.
If your desire to cycle is not yet fully satisfied, you can gladly extend the stage on the Rhine Cycle Path to Koblenz and have 10 additional beautiful kilometers ahead of you.
From Nassau station, follow the signs for the Lahn Cycle Path and then leave the town via the Lahn bridge. After the bridge, keep right and cycle leisurely along the left bank of the Lahn. At Dausenau, stay further left of the Lahn; a short detour to the medieval town center with the city wall and the leaning tower is definitely worth it.
At the main station of Bad Ems, turn right into Bahnhofstraße and cross the Lahn via the Ottmar Canz bridge. Since 24.07.2021, Bad Ems has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so it goes without saying to get off your bike briefly here. Walking through the town, it quickly becomes clear that Bad Ems, with its elegant buildings, rightfully belongs to the "Great Spas of Europe." Continue via Lahnstraße and Römerstraße. At the old town hall, turn left into the street of the same name and then follow Viktoriaallee to the right. At Remybrücke, continue into Jahnstraße and then follow the riverside path on the right bank of the Lahn through Fachbach, Nievern, and Friedrichsegen to Niederlahnstein.
At the campsite, you now reach the mouth of the Lahn. To get to the station, follow the Rhine for a bit and then turn into Goethestraße. If you want to continue to Koblenz, follow the signs for the Rhine Cycle Path (Didierstraße) before the station underpass, which brings you back to the Rhine. Follow the riverside path to the Pfaffendorfer Bridge, over which you can easily reach Koblenz’s old town with the Deutsches Eck and the main station.
