Through the nature park, you travel from Nassau with its castle Nassau-Oranien perched high on the hill, continuing to Obernhof. A place with a long wine-growing tradition. With the citizens' vineyard, this tradition has recently experienced a real renaissance. A bottle of Riesling or Pinot Noir will certainly fit into the saddlebag. With constant Lahn contact, it goes on to Laurenburg, from where you cycle very relaxed along the Lahn over two newly built cycle and pedestrian bridges to Geilnau and Balduinstein.
The Lahn winds through wooded slopes and sparkles in the sunlight. The village Balduinstein suitably complements the breathtaking scenery, and so you reach Diez full of beautiful impressions. Here, a delightful stop in one of the beautiful cafes and restaurants of the lively town center is worthwhile. Limburg is excellently suited as an alternative stage destination. There are also numerous accommodation and dining options here.
From the Nassau train station, you leave the town via the impressive Lahn bridge. At the end of the bridge, keep left and follow the course of the Lahn. You now roll very relaxed through the beautiful nature of the Schleuse-Hollerich nature reserve. Shortly before Arnstein Abbey, there is a small climb to overcome. From the abbey, you then descend to Obernhof. Here, the wine-growing tradition is upheld, and you are sure to find a wine tavern to sample. In Obernhof, you cross the Lahn bridge to change to the other bank of the Lahn and cycle parallel to the B417 through the Lahn valley to Laurenburg. From there, you cycle over two newly built cycle and pedestrian bridges further to Geilnau and Balduinstein. The village fits well into the picturesque landscape and is certainly worth a short detour. However, the Lahn cycle path does not cross the Lahn bridge to Balduinstein but stays on the same bank of the Lahn. Very close to the river, it goes towards Diez. On hot days, you should definitely treat yourself to a refreshment at the Diez quarry lake. You reach Diez via the pedestrian bridge "Old Lahn Bridge." The Oranien town of Diez welcomes you with two remarkable castles. Both castles, Oranienstein Palace and the Count's Castle, house interesting museums.
In Diez, you can also find romantic half-timbered facades, hospitable cafes, and restaurants. Alternatively, Limburg offers itself as a stage destination. Via Pfaffengasse and Oraniensteiner Street, it initially goes uphill. But after just a few hundred meters, you turn left into "zum Mühlchen" street and can roll more comfortably from then on. At Staffel, you leave Rhineland-Palatinate and now cycle through Hesse. As in Diez, you will find numerous accommodation and dining options in Limburg as well.
