Cycling through the heart of the Baraggia, amidst history and culture

This charming circular route begins in Piazza del Ricetto di Candelo, one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Italy. After a short ride, we dive into the peaceful atmosphere of the Roggia della Marchesa, a gentle stream that accompanies the first part of the journey amid lush vegetation and the soothing sounds of nature.

From here, the route enters the extraordinary Baraggia Nature Reserve – the "savannah of Biella" – a uniquely fascinating area whose almost African-like landscape and wide-open spaces offer breathtaking views of the Biellese Alps. Cycling through its trails means immersing yourself in pristine nature and spectacular scenery.

Continuing on, we reach one of the most captivating stops: Castello di Castellengo, an elegant historic residence surrounded by vineyards and gentle hills. Here, time seems to have stood still, offering a glimpse of history and tradition.

The return route leads us once again through stretches of Baraggia alternating with meadows cultivated for hay, in a perfect blend of wild nature and agricultural landscape, until we return to our starting point in Candelo, thus completing a route that combines history, nature, and breathtaking views.
