Sentiero Tanaro: Tappa 8 Garessio (Borgata Pian Bernardo, Fraz. di Trappa) - Ormea

Leaving Pian Bernardo, go up a nice paved path through steep hairpin bends among the beech woods to reach the Prati sopra le Balze, a grassy plateau at high altitude on the crest of the Rocca delle Orse. From here you cross the ridge and descend on the southern slope to reach the ancient mountain villages of Case Lurdea and Stalle Calvetto to join the Balconata di Ormea in the Borgata di Carià. You then follow the Balconata route up to the hamlet of Villaro and then go back down to Ormea through the old Ormea Castle.
