On the way down to Mazaufroid, the view is absolutely beautiful with a panorama of Mont Gargan, steeped in history, recalling the significant acts of the Limousin Resistance that took place there during the Second World War.
Legend has it that Gargantua, stopping in Limousin, placed his boots nearby. Two clods of earth then peeled off his soles: Mont Ceix and Mont Gargan.
