Neustadt a. d. Aisch, a commercial town, school town and former royal seat which is rich in tradition, is situated in the middle of Franconia. Lying at the intersection of old trade and military roads it has evolved into an important regional centre over the centuries. At every step, the visitor faces the relics of the past: picturesque alleys and places, towers, large and small gates, fountains and attractive green spaces inviting people to stroll and linger.
12.500 people live in the city and its dozen rural suburbs. Almost two thirds of the total area of 61.2 square kilometres is farmed, one third is forest area or serves the fish farming in the breeding of the well-known "Aischgründer Karpfen".Neustadt has many charming sights.
