Welcome to the Diemelsee Nature Park
The highest mountains in the Sauerland, mostly wide valleys, deep forests alternating with meadows and fields characterise the Diemelsee Nature Park. Colourful deciduous and mixed forests, as well as dark spruce forests, cover around half of the area. In between you will find fields and pastureland, colourful flower meadows, crystal-clear streams, erica-coloured high heaths and, in the middle of it all, Lake Diemelsee.
