Bremgarten - Emmaus Chapel - Hermetschwil Monastery - Werd - Hasliwald - Muri
At the beginning of your hike from the Reuss valley into the neighboring Bünz valley, a stroll through the narrow alleys of Bremgarten is recommended. Discover the charming nooks and corners of the peninsula and only afterwards walk upstream along the Reuss on the Habsburg route to the Emmaus Chapel in Zufikon. The former hermitage is now inhabited by Franciscan sisters. Next, continue along the Reuss bank to the pretty Benedictine Hermetschwil Monastery dating from the 12th century. The monastery shop offers home-grown organic products for sale.
You will soon reach the meadows of the idyllic Flachsee, an artificial biotope and at the same time a bird sanctuary. Wandering through lovely fields and passing farms, you will reach the cool Hasliwald forest, and shortly afterwards you will already see the bell towers of Muri Monastery. The listed family monastery of the Habsburgs was founded in 1027 by the couple Radbot and Ita and still attracts travelers from around the world today. It is definitely worth a visit!
