LOOP N°16 - GIVRAND

Maison de la Cour
From the Maison de la Cour, head towards the roundabout to your right, then take the third exit to join the bike path on your left. Next, cross the second roundabout using the pedestrian crossing on your left to reach the other section of the bike path. At the next roundabout, take the fourth exit to follow the greenway. After 250 m, carefully turn right crossing the main road. You gradually leave the village by a dirt road offering a change of scenery towards beautiful countryside. After 500 m, cross the road to continue straight ahead.

La Fillonnière
A few meters further you take the D 42; be sure to check both directions carefully before entering the road. Then take the first right and tackle a small ascent. Afterwards continue straight for 2 km. Turn right and follow the main road for 2.5 km. In La Fillonnière, succumb to the charm of this hamlet, lush as can be. Not forgetting the presence of many animals.

Jaunay River
2 km later, you are offered an intimate encounter with the Jaunay river. A bridge will allow you to gain height and offer a beautiful panorama on both sides. Upstream of the D12, turn right to follow this same road via a small path. Then veer left and cross the departmental road.

Croix David Road
After 800 m, follow the peaceful Croix David road for nearly 1.4 km. Beautiful wooded areas enhanced by wildflowers along the roadside. At the intersection, turn right then immediately left. Then continue straight ahead, proceed along rue de la Chalonnière. Cross the D 38 carefully to continue straight on rue des Cavaliers. Then turn right and let avenue de la Garenne de la Chalonnière lead you to the coastline of Brétignolles and its preserved dune area.

The Sauzaie and Jaunay dunes
At the stop sign, head towards the bike path running along the Sauzaie and Jaunay dunes. A completely different landscape gradually unfolds. The trail winds through this pleasant vegetated dune area. With gently rolling dunes and small pastures and wooded areas, the route promises a pleasant variety of scenery.

Givrand greenway
Once past Camping des Cyprès, follow the bike path and continue straight. Stay on the path alongside the departmental road then cross via two pedestrian crossings. Then follow the greenway for 2.5 km to return to the starting point. A final stage that closes the ride beautifully with its bucolic setting.
