The ponds and marshes of Mareuil-Caubert

A walk in the marsh, near the fishy ponds, home to characteristic flora and fauna of these environments.
From the town hall square, take the rue du Petit Voyeul which becomes a grassy path. Cross a wooden bridge, and continue to the road (le Grand Voyeul). Continue along the fisherman's path that runs along the ponds. Here mingle birds and songbirds, including the bluethroat and kingfisher while dragonflies flutter about. You then arrive at the Voyeul Maillefeu; it becomes wider and wider and opens onto the rue Maillefeu, named after the river. In these former peatlands, white and predatory fish live in large numbers. Return to the starting point.
