Starting from the parking lot of the St Brice chapel, this trail, straddling the Swiss and French territories, will allow you, among other things, to encounter a magnificent beech, the largest in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland, but also a pedunculate oak, two large American Douglas firs, and two Scots pines. Possibility to dine on site at the St Brice inn.
Clothing suited to the season and conditions (cold, hot, humid…).
Hiking shoes appropriate for the terrain (even for children!).
Telescopic poles (useful for stability and to relieve joints).
Mobile phone and spare battery if needed.
Check the general and local weather, ensuring there is no precipitation
Get information on the approach walk, altitude of the route, travel time, possible escape routes (IGN map, GPS, guidebook, etc…).
Assess possible risks by consulting mountain professionals, shelters, lodgings.
Inform a close person of your objective and contact them in case of changes: departure and return times, number of participants with each phone number, vehicle(s), parking.
Avoid going alone, use equipment suitable for the activity, adjusted and in good condition, headlamp, full first aid kit, survival blanket, etc…
