Cammino delle Pievi della Carnia Stage 3 From Tolmezzo to Cesclans

From the town of Tolmezzo, head towards the Avôns Bridge over the Tagliamento River and cross it. Then, continue to the left towards Cavazzo Carnico, covering about 800 meters. At the old "Cason dal Stambec" building, cross a bridge on the disused road and walk along a path next to the Ambiesta Stream.

After an easy climb, you reach a dirt road and turn right to descend to the valley floor near the "Al Pescatore" trattoria. Cross the bridge over the Faéit Stream and follow the paved road to Cesclàns, passing through the settlement to the Pieve, taking 1 hour and 30 minutes.

To reach Cavazzo Carnico for possible overnight stay, there are two options:

Return to the bridge over the Faéit Stream and then go right towards the settlement along a road with little traffic. From the Pieve, climb for a few meters then descend and continue on the provincial road to the left. After crossing a peat bog, you enter the settlement in two kilometers.
