Via Flavia Walk Stage 3 Miramare (Trieste) – Monfalcone

The route starts from the park of Miramare Castle to Via Plinio and continues along the sea on Via del Pucino. Then take Via della Salvia, a long dirt road marked with yellow arrows, cross a railway overpass and climb stone steps following the CAI 1 arrows.

Continue on the Rilke Trail to Duino, crossing the SP33 of Villaggio del Pescatore, the Timavo Estuary, and the Romanesque Church of St. John in Stuba. Climb up to the dirt road junction on the left, then cross an asphalt road and follow the path marked by the arrows.

The route passes through some houses and then turns left following the yellow dots towards Monfalcone. Cross the town passing through Viale San Marco and Viale Oscar Cosulich, turning right at the first roundabout. Take Via Bagni at the second roundabout. Near the Church of Marcelliana it is possible to get a stamp and there are also two affiliated B&Bs.
