Business card of the Canton of Aargau

The attractive region around Lake Hallwil is often referred to as the business card of the Canton of Aargau. Indeed, anyone arriving here - or even just passing through - thinks of holidays and relaxation. The municipality of Fahrwangen lies on the eastern shore of Lake Hallwil and on the sunny slope of the Lindenberg at an altitude of 546 metres.

Although you can't enjoy a view of the lake from the village centre, Fahrwangen is nevertheless a lakeside community. On the Lucerne border, around two kilometres south-west of the village centre, Fahrwangen has a strip of shoreline around five hundred metres long on Lake Hallwil. And there, quite close by, is even a municipal bathing hut. This idyllic spot can be easily reached on foot in around twenty minutes.

Families, nature lovers and leisure sports enthusiasts will find everything they are looking for here. The area in and around Fahrwangen is a paradise for walkers, hikers and joggers. The lake invites you to swim or take a boat trip. For motorised and non-motorised friends of two-wheelers, Fahrwangen is an ideal starting point for shorter or longer rides. And families can get together and enjoy a cosy barbecue at the fire pits provided. There's no doubt about it: life is good in the middle of our canton's local recreation area.
