Eisgarn is located in the north of the Waldviertel. The name Eisgarn means something like "burnt out place" (old Slavic: izgorje). The landscape is shaped by agriculture and surrounded by forests. It is enlivened by numerous shrines and wayside crosses. Many granite blocks in the most diverse forms, often shrouded in legends, characterize nature. The Community of Eisgarn consists of the four larger villages of Eisgarn, Groß-Radischen, Klein-Radischen, Wielings and small districts.
