Winter walk around Bad Peterstal

From the train station, head left uphill for about 50m, crossing the railway tracks via a bridge. Directly in the curve is a signpost, which we follow to the right onto a gravel path. Slightly ascending, the path winds along the forest slope. With a good view of Bad Peterstal, we walk parallel to the railway tracks and parallel to the Rench River, whose rushing sound will accompany us on our route. Soon we reach the Altanen Häusle, a wooden hut that offers us a first viewpoint and rest stop. From there we follow the path until it takes a right turn and gently leads downhill. At the next fork, we keep right towards the village and enter the town through an underpass. We cross the main road (B 28, opposite the bft gas station) and go left towards the Brunnentempel "Sophienquelle". Here there is the opportunity to enjoy fresh spring water in the drinking hall. Otherwise, we cross the bridge just before the drinking hall, where we cross the adjacent parking lot and the path continues uphill on the left. A small signpost points us right towards the next stop, the water treading area "In der Hölle". The path ascends again until we find ourselves above the rooftops of Bad Peterstal, getting a completely different perspective of the town. Towards the Kneipp basin, the path initially veers slightly away from the town and leads in a wide right loop onto an asphalt path. We follow this until the church tower is back in view and we pass along the cemetery. Passing it, we keep left and do not descend immediately. The small street leads into the L96, which we cross. Here we walk right and immediately turn left behind the cultural center to enter the spa park, which is worth a small extra loop. Otherwise, we use the small bridge to cross the Freiersbach and go right along Kurhausweg to the main road (junction B 28). On the other side of the street, we go left on the sidewalk back to Bad Peterstal station.
