Wahlwies Biofarm Gourmet Bike Route

The route starts at Wahlwies station and leads through picturesque apple orchards. The first stops are the Pestalozzi Erlenhof and the Neuhof, where organic farming has been practiced for decades. Here you will find regional delicacies such as potatoes, grains, cheese, meat, and pasta. Particularly exciting: at Neuhof, the calves are raised mother-attached.

On the way, you cycle past the idyllic Hexenbrünnele before reaching the B.I.O. organic shop in Orsingen. Here you will find a rich selection of fresh, regional, and seasonal organic products – from crisp fruits and vegetables to cheese, antipasti, and high-quality organic wine, mainly in top Demeter, Naturland, or Bioland quality.

After a short detour to an idyllic chapel, you reach the Porthof, which is managed biodynamically and has an impressive history as the “Gateway to Homburg.”

Then the route goes downhill to the Forster fruit farm, where you can try home-grown fruit such as apples, berries, cherries, and plums, as well as fresh baked goods directly from the farm’s sales barn.

Another highlight of the route is the Staringer orchard cider mill. Since 1989, the mill has processed untreated orchard fruit from fair contract farming. Over 90 percent of the organic products are sold locally – a true regional specialty! Try fresh cider or apple juice and enjoy the quality of the local orchard meadows.

After 25 kilometers, you return with many impressions and delicious organic products in your backpack. The Wahlwies Biofarm Gourmet Bike Route is the perfect mix of nature, agriculture, and culinary experience – an unforgettable outing for the whole family!

A81 heading south to the Hegau junction, then take the A98 towards Stockach and at the Stockach junction take the B31 towards Ludwigshafen. Take the Wahlwies/Stockach-West exit and follow the signs to Wahlwies. Alternatively, take the B31 to Stockach or the B313 towards Radolfzell and take the Wahlwies exit.
