Lahn bike path 8th upstream stage Niederlahnstein - Nassau

From Niederlahnstein station, go via Goethestraße to the Rhine. There, turn left and after a few 100 meters you reach the mouth of the Lahn. Follow the riverside path via Friedrichsegen, Nievern and Fachbach to Bad Ems. From the Remy Bridge, follow Victoriaallee and Römerstraße to the spa district. Bad Ems has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 24.07.2021, and it goes without saying to take a short break here. Strolling through the town, it quickly becomes clear that Bad Ems, with its elegant buildings, rightly belongs to the "Great Spas of Europe".

Cross the Lahn to the other side in Bad Ems via the Ottmar-Canz Bridge, take a short detour via Bahnhofstraße. Past Bad station, return to the Lahn. Almost always touching the Lahn, follow the well-signposted bike path to Dausenau. Here, you actually do not change the Lahn side, but a short detour into the medieval old town with the city wall and the crooked tower is definitely worthwhile.

The Lahn bike path continues along the river to Nassau. Over the impressive Lahn bridge and Bahnhofstraße, you finally reach the stage destination, Nassau station. The town in the heart of Nassau Nature Park offers plenty of opportunities to pamper body and soul.

Trekking or touring bike (e-bike or conventional), spare tube and tools, water bottle and clothing adapted to the weather.

The Lahn bike path mostly runs on bike paths, quiet side streets and country lanes. Please still observe the traffic regulations and be considerate of other cyclists, agricultural vehicles and pedestrians.

Via B417 or B260 to Nassau

The public transport connection to the Lahn bike path is excellent.

The eighth stage includes the stations Niederlahnstein, Friedrichsegen, Nievern, Bad Ems West, Bad Ems main station, Dausenau and Nassau.

The train connections in Rhineland-Palatinate belong to the Rhein-Mosel Transport Association.

Leave the bike for a while in Bad Ems and take the Kurwaldbahn up to the Bismarck Tower (bike parking available). The view is worth it!
