GTA: Stage 32 Le Capanne di Quincinetto - Frazione Fondo di Traversella

From Le Capanne di Quincinetto, start going up along path 831, passing by Alpe Fum Inferiore (1574 m) and Superiore (1620 m) where there are signs for Alpe Chiaromonte and Val Chiusella. Continue left towards the west on the asphalt road until, after the hairpin bend, you find the path again on the left that climbs up through meadows to Alpe i Piani (2014 m), a very characteristic and panoramic mountain pasture area, and then Colle di Pian dei Spergiurati, on the watershed between the Scalaro valley and Valchiusella (2045 m). Ignore the indications of the path that turns left for Monte Gregorio and continue on the GTA, reaching Rifugio Chiaromonte (currently closed) after a few minutes. A long westward traverse with a few ascents and descents leads from the refuge to the ruins of an alpine pasture, from which the rapid descent to Pian di Cappia begins. You walk from the homonymous hamlet along the sides of a rather deep watershed and cross the stream to reach Succinto and then, with an easy downhill traverse, the little village of Fondo di Traversella.
