Cantilever bridge with a length of 45 meters.

Currently the largest cantilever wooden bridge in Europe approved for heavy traffic connects St. Georgen with St. Lorenzen and is a masterpiece of Styrian timber construction.

550m³ of splint-free Styrian larch laminated timber was used in the construction with 69 tons of steel bracing. The bridge is 85m long, 8.60m wide and cantilevers over the Mur River with a height of 25m and a span of 45m.

The bridge impressively illustrates the possibilities of structural timber glulam construction and can be seen as an impulse project for timber bridge construction.

The wooden European bridge is part of the wood world tour BAU trifft ARCHITEKTUR.

Always freely accessible.
