Circular route Maria Luggau – Ebner valley (Stalln huts) - Moosertal – Sterzer Hochwiesen – Frohn – Sterzen – Maria Luggau

Walking time circular hike approx. 4 hrs = 8 points

From the inn "Bäckwirt" you go on foot down to the Gail and on the opposite side up to the road leading into the Ebner valley. Turn left 100 m before the Stalln huts and via a beautiful forest trail (forest road) into the Moosertal. After crossing the Moosertal stream, the path leads on the other side of the valley to the Sterzer Hochwiesen, where you can enjoy a wonderful view toward Maria Luggau and the Lienz Dolomites and are invited to take a break. Slightly descending, you reach the village Frohn after a short walking time. Here, too, the hiker enjoys a wide view into the Lesachtal with its romantic villages. Along the pilgrim’s path of the Italian neighboring villages Sappada/Plodn and Forni Avoltri, the path goes over Sterzen back to Maria Luggau. Control stamp at the stream crossing in the Moosertal.
